A Christmas Carol Script Excerpts School Scene School Scene--This is the scene where Scrooge first gets to see his former self. This scene also has an original song for the Teacher. This scene is new since the original performance and has not yet been performed. TEACHER Now, students. I want you to remember throughout this break who it was that made the lame beggars walk and the blind men see. I want you to remember the true meaning of this Christmas season. (sings) What is this time of year? The one that we all call Christmas. Where did it all begin? A stable so long ago. Christmas is God's greatest gift Given for all to know. STUDENTS What is this time of year? The one that we all call Christmas. A time for family, a time for friends, A time for us all to share. TEACHER and STUDENTS God sent Jesus, His one and only son. To be our precious savior, to give us life above. He sent Jesus, to save us from our sins To die on Calvary and return to us again. He sent Jesus, the greatest gift of all on Christmas. What is this time of year? The one that we all call Christmas. A time for giving, a time for caring, A time for laughter and love. God sent Jesus, His one and only son. (The CHILDREN, except for YOUNG BOY SCROOGE, exit yelling “Merry Christmas.” SCROOGE is forced to move out of their way. The TEACHER exits with one of the CHILDREN, leaving YOUNG BOY SCROOGE alone.) |
