A Christmas Carol

Script Excerpts

From this page you can read several of the scenes, or partial scenes, from the new musical adaptation of A Christmas Carol.  Available scenes are listed and described below.

Pawnbroker Scene--This is the comic-relief scene of the death angel section.  In this scene, you see three women; Mrs. Cobbler (Scrooge's chambermaid), a Laundress, and a Charwoman; pawning the items that they stole from Scrooge's chambers after his death.  This rousing scene, which is not presented here in its entirety, concludes with an equally rousing song who's words are included in this excerpt.

First Cratchit Scene--This is the scene in the Cratchit House that Scrooge sees, during the Christmas Present section, unbeknownst to the Cratchits.  This scene includes an endearing solo for Tiny Tim as he dreams about someday being able to walk and run again.

Second Cratchit Scene--This is the scene in the Cratchit House that actually happens on Christmas Day after Scrooge's conversion.

School Scene--This is the scene where Scrooge first gets to see his former self.  This scene also has an original song for the Teacher.  This scene is new since the original performance and has not yet been performed.

Park Scene--This is the climax of the Christmas Past section where Scrooge sees himself as a young man breaking up with the only girl he ever really loved.  This scene also includes a impassioned original song.
